Mango Butter is an ingredient that has been on the rise in popularity over the past few years. Though it's medicinal properties have only recently gained popularity, mango butter has been a staple favorite among many other cultures for over 4,000 years.
Mango butter is cultivated in warm climates and found in over 100 countries. It is a readily available butter to use in skincare. Pressed from mango seeds from the Mangifera Indica tree (found in southern Asia), this butter is usually produced in India, Thailand, China, Mexico, & Brazil. Though it can be produced in other countries.
We use mango butter as the base emollient for all of our body butters, lotions, soaps, and cleansing balms. We do mix in other butters, butter blends, and carrier oils to achieve the best moisturizing and hydrating combination. We decided to use mango butter as our base because of its fast absorption and dry finish that is great for all skin types. It has a subtle if noticeable scent that blends perfectly with the natural aromas of carrier oils, fragrances, essential oils and other butters. It is also full of protective, moisturizing, and antimicrobial properties which is great to have in a base.
